Musician Spotlight: Kate Reinhard, Lawrenceville, New Jersey
"My name is Kate Reinhard. I’ve just completed the first year of my master’s degree at Westminster Choir College in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, but work at St. Andrew in Newtown, Pennsylvania and also sing at various Catholic churches in the central New Jersey and Philadelphia area.
I sing to glorify God with my talents, and to feel closer to Him in the Mass. I also love the community that choirs and music ministries provide. As a recent convert to the Catholic faith, observing the Eucharist being consecrated every week motivated me to want to work for a Catholic church for as long as I can. Singing at the Mass is such a visceral experience and one that keeps me coming back as often as possible. It keeps me engaged during the service and helps me apply the Word to my daily life.
Join your local church choir! Even if you don’t think you can sing. The environment is supportive, and it’s a joyful way to praise God! (Psalm 96)"
